This is Hasifa Hummer. It's snowing and blowing here in PDX with wind chills in mid-teens. She prefers the unheated feeder on the front porch. This morning she let me approach as she was trying to get nectar from the frozen tray. I put my finger under her feet as this one has no railing. She actually perched there for a second. Magical. I see a hand feeder in my future. Meanwhile the songbirds have formed a line to get at the tube feeder - juncos, wrens, sparrows, Stellar's Jay, chickadees. Stopped feeding squirrels as they make a huge mess. But two are content to forage in the catch tray under the tube feeder.
