Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Navigators Of My Inner Compass

As far as I remembered, I got some of my qualities from reading books. In my childhood, I was very shy and used to have a bit of low self-esteem. So I started reading books to overcome this. Whenever I used to go on train journey, I used to buy some personal development books from Higgin Badams bookstore and read them in my journey. Also many people helped me in pointing me to some good books and articles. Here are some of them.

i would like to thank Lakshmakka for her encouragement and suggesting good books. Once she told me a story about a thief who stumbles into a saint and asks him for an advice. The saint asks him to stop stop what he is doing. But he says, he cannot do it as he doesn’t know anything other than doing this and this is the he is raising his family. Then the saint advices him to speak only truth and the thief readily agrees for that. This one thing changes his whole life and he becomes a very good man in very short time. I do not remember the complete story now. But this is the outline of the story on high-level. It stuck with me since then and had a great impact on me and helped me in developing honesty.

I would like to thank my cousins Ravi Kumar (Ravannayya) and Murali Krishna, who also helped me in introducing to some good books. Ravikumar used to have a big collection of good books and music.

My childhood friend Bobby, with whom I have been in constant touch even after we moved to different places after completing our 10th class. We used to exchange letters at least one each week with our ideas(as we did not had internet or much of phone communication). I would like to thank him too for being there in my development.

My cousin Ramakka is another one with whom I used to read and talk about some of the telugu novels and in being sensitive.
