Stories of Kindness from Around the World

A Grateful Blessing

--by amelianina1, posted May 5, 2016

We have a member of this family in a nursing home because he has dementia. This is a brilliant man who led his family through thick and thin, who was always there for them and when we see him now, how he cannot function without help, it truly is heart breaking. It makes me doubly grateful that I was able to go to work in Manhattan at the age of 78, do my desk job, return home and be of assistance to the lady of the house who has bronchitis and is at the doctor who just told her that she is bordering on pneumonia. I now have a sore throat myself, but I will just keep going, the best I can for as long as I can. Their son is also sick with a cold, but no sore throat yet. Alleluia.
