Today I took a bus from Buswangudi to Majestic. I asked one gentle man if the bus stops at Freedom Park. The gentle man asked me where I want to go? I told him that actually I am going to Central College Auditorium. He told me to get down at Mysore Bank bus stop and asked me to pay Rs 12 to conductor. I told him I don't have change but no worries I would buy ticket for both. The gentle man told me not to bother about his ticket as he has monthly bus pass. He then handed me two coins of one rupee each and asked me to give conductor Rs 102. Otherwise conductor will not give the change back. I was really moved by his kindness, concern and help.
As I was reflecting on the things that I take for granted, I realized that one of the thing for sure I take for granted is people's willingness to be kind and helpful to a stranger. I never indulged in such self less act and hence I assume no one would. Probably the world looks only as we want it to see it.
