Last night we had guests for dinner...not something I usually do on a weeknight...but my son was home and he wanted to have his very good friend come over with his wife...I was happy to oblige especially when he told me they are pregnant...how exciting...and my son ended up also inviting his friend's parents who are neighbors and friends of ours too (who have invited us many times)...we all had a lovely evening and they were very appreciative...I didn't actually think of this as a kindness at first as it was just something I enjoyed...but hey who says you can't enjoy a kindness...inviting guests is actually one of the 613 Mitzvot (often translated as good deeds and many of them are but really they are commandments) that we Jews are given...so if G-d commands kindness that says it all...
