Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Today At Sunday Assembly ...

Today at Sunday Assembly I had signed up to volunteer with the kid's program but due to a schedule change I was told that I was not needed.
Then I started chatting with someone who told me that he's doing an astronomy lab outside for the kids so that they can look at the moon (which is why I did not need to help) and he let me tag along to learn about astronomy.
We got to learn about telescopes and got to look at the moon at various magnifications - it was such an incredible experience, I think I had much more fun than the kids did!
I also learned that this is a way to easily try out our own telescope - in the daylight when we can see what we're doing - so that we are familiar with it once it's dark. I would've never thought of that! Then he told me about various astronomy clubs in the region and their activities. I'm so looking forward to learning more about this when we come back from our vacation!
The photo is not my photo but it's pretty close to what I saw today :)
