I worked with my high school boy today and we finished up both homework packets that are due Monday and Tuesday. Not easy getting him to read the Joseph Campbell piece, but I broke down each paragraph so he could understand it. Then my third grader and I was so proud to hear that he got a certificate for being the best student for November. He got two bubble gum lollipops.
I saw the homeless couple today and brought them a package of oranges, a few pairs of socks and gave them many phone #'s for shelters I got off the internet. They are still waiting for their papers. Going to make up another package of gloves, scarves, etc. for them. Maybe more socks.
It was cold today and I felt so bad for them being out there. It also made me feel so grateful for all that I have.
