Well today was my first day back to work. Occupational health said the one hour journey each way was too much for me so I'm being chauffeured there and back this week lol, I feel like royalty. 👑
My boss allowed me to do a half day today which was great. He also organised for the lecturers who were covering my classes to be there this week. This was really good.
The students did not know I was due back today and when they saw me coming up the stairs they came out to greet me. They then hugged me, pretty cool response from 17-18 year olds.
The students wrote a message on the white board. It says 'Welcome back Rose-Marie Ritchie, lots of hearts and stars. 💚 💛 💜 💚 💛 💜 I was so touched by this. Another student who I shouldn't see until Thursday was in the town centre and when he heard I was back, he called in specially to see me.
It's days like today which remind me why I teach. It's a vocation and I'm proud to say it is my vocation. I love my students and days like today warm my heart when I see they love and appreciate me. X
