Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Stepping Up

Day 7: Sincerity

- I found the quality of sincerity in the story in two places. Shabari fled into the Forrest to spare the animals . The sage Matanga took in the outcast Shabari.
They both put their sincerity into action, despite the risks involved.

- Shabari's relevance in today's world took me to the plight of refugees in our world today. She left an unbearable situation & sought refuge. She was looked down on & turned away by all but Matanga.

-What stops me from being sincere? I have two "roadblocks" that sometimes --not always, but sometimes--pollute my sincerity...both are fear-based...Fear of possibly offending/upsetting someone and my intense dislike of confrontation. I don't lie, but I hold back on fully saying what I want to say. So then I am not being my totally authentic self. With those I feel close to & comfortable with I am able to speak my full truth. I won't compromise myself in "action", but I do censor myself in speech sometimes.
I am aware of this needs to be addressed by me and have made progress, but I need to "step it up"!
