"While we can’t always control the things that happen to us, we all have the power to control what we make of our lives, and to embrace the love and kindness we deserve.
Honey, Cameron, and Ben David pigs are perfect examples! We met Honey in 2008 when we rescued her from devastating floods in Iowa. A former gestation sow, Honey had never been given the chance to nurture her babies. Safe at Farm Sanctuary, however, she found family — serving as an incredible co-parent to her friend Nikki’s babies. Sadly, Honey experienced tragedy once again after Nikki’s passing last year. The loss tore the family apart, and for the first time in nearly nine years, Honey was once again alone and depressed. But it wouldn’t be for long: The answer came in the form of two piglets, Cameron and Ben David, who’d arrived at Farm Sanctuary separately and also needed a family. Honey eagerly adopted these boys as her own, and now the trio is inseparable! Honey and her kids are never far apart, and they’re especially fond of snuggling side by side.
