Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Some Of You Realize ...

Some of you realize that while enjoying my daughter's Greek wedding immensely, also fell twice and sustained a mild concussion when I hit the tile floors on my daughter's wedding day. A nasty headache challenged me, but could be controlled and and all was not tainted with pain. In fact, the emotion that sticks with me is Joy. Joy through and through.
When I returned home, my daughter, husband and 18-month old grand son soon followed for what has been almost a two-week visit. And soon over....Unfortunately, I came down with a fever and severe bronchial infection which has kept me from being part of many events with the family up until yesterday! Antibiotics, inhaler, and healing rest have all been wondrous helps, I am still unwell, but just a bit, and energy seem revived so I hope to go on a 6 mile walk today, have a picnic, look for ancient monuments along the way, and then out to dinner.
It occurred to me to try and turn some of the past few weeks, with pictures, into little pieces on lessons learned. If it is possible, I hope it will put to use images and events that otherwise are simply "personal". What I am looking for is the universal in the personal. It's an experiment... .Time will tell if I can do this, Time always does, it is such a blabbermouth!!! lol
Here I am on Rachel's wedding day. The lesson I came away with most clearly was: you can overcome many little setbacks. The concussion meant I had to wear a less attractive pair of shoes with my dress. I n fact they didn't really go---they were casual, not dressy at all. But I could not wear the ones chosen as they were too precarious. So that was that!! Goodbye vanity. Hello health. Main message: No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up!
