Good news: the lady trying to escape her husband is safe.
Yesterday afternoon she talked to her former employer and told him of her troubles. Once his shift ended in the middle of the night he drove to her house, grabbed her dogs, told her to pack her stuff, tossed everything and everyone into his truck, and brought her to his house. She's now staying in his garden shed with all of her dogs and gets to drive the wife's car.
There really are kind people everywhere. And staying with a friend, even in a garden shed, has to be better than staying with strangers at a woman's shelter.
I'm just glad she's safe. I've been sick with worry since I first talked with her.
We promised that we'll meet in person once her life settles down a bit!
