I've officially booked my flight (after searching high and low for the cheapest flights) and will be seeing my extended family in 5 months, right after school finishes. The best part of traveling alone is the kindness opportunities you'll encounter on the way. Three years ago on my flight back to Toronto I sat with an elderly man who came from Germany. We ended up discussing a lot. On the way, I showed him to work these airplane TV's (which are a blessing on long flights), and helped him fill out his declaration card (as it was hard for him to see the print). After the plane landed I took his luggage from the compartment and handed it to him. He said I was the kindest young person he's encountered on his travels ha ha. Looking forward to more kindness :)
