Challenge Follow Ups

I feel as though I am playing ketchup in terms of sharing, but after today's meeting, I thought I'd highlight some things I've been doing. I apologize in advance for the lengthy post! (curse of being a writer)

Sophana brought up beautifying the community challenge we had, which inspired me to slap some chalkboard paint on a slat of wood I had lying around. I stenciled the magnesium alchemy symbol on it - for those that don't know what it stands for, magnesium represents the idea of ascension, a state of continuous growth and moving upward. I have been contemplating about a safe and LEGAL spot that I could adhere the board to, along with a bucket of chalk with instructions to leave positive messages to get your neighbor through the day. I even thought about maybe bringing it here to the branch. Aside from that project, I have also been leaving photographs that I have taken from my travels in random mailboxes, writing something uplifting in the back.

Yesterday's flower challenge got me thinking about my ex-boyfriend's mum. When he and I were dating, he had confided in me about his father's infidelity, which til this day, is still going on, and all the sacrifices his mum made for her son's sake. Because he witnessed the anguish that this caused his mum, he made a choice - to treat every woman with respect and uphold the idea of loyalty. I decided to send his mum's favourite flowers to her home, along with a handwritten letter to remind her of her worth and to thank her for having an enormous heart.
