Always with me are the tears
of a simpler time
when falling meant only a skinned knee
and a mother's hug of shush shush
it will be alright.
The touch of fluttering leaf
surprises me
with its early leave from the tree
and the ghostly singed autumn
cameos what is to come.
Through every pore and piece
the forest shelters
a spirited sprite that knows
this temporary landscape
withers never forever.
Taken into me are the kisses
of babes and loves
of hellos and sorrow's goodbyes
where they lie as diamond glints
tinged with a pierced heart.
Arms laden full of overwhelmed gifts
how can they hold anymore?
Webbed and strung with connections
past any single life
the dances danced sparkle
with polish and shine
for hope of one more time.
