Stories of Kindness from Around the World

A Little Christmas Cheer

--by paolagast, posted Dec 26, 2015

Well, I haven't practiced today, but sure did throughout the month of December:) I decided to ask my husband what he thought about not giving each other presents, and instead give three families who were in need and didn't have the means, a Christmas dinner basket. He of course said yes so I went onto a "free Facebook page" and did a draw. We went out and got a turkey and all the sides needed for a great Christmas dinner, plus a visa gift card for them to buy the veggies, the gratitude expressed by these people were the best Christmas present I have ever received! Just knowing they would be able to share a nice meal together made my heart fuzzy and warm😊😊 for one of the families, we purchased gifts for the kids and when we delivered them the kids were so excited!

Christmas is a time to give, not only presents to our families and friends, but to people in need that don't have anything. My family and I are so blessed, we have everything we need and we have each other. Next year we want to do the baskets again and we want to volunteer preparing Christmas dinner for a shelter or something of the sort, and spending Christmas with them. It has been a great year, we are grateful we could help others this Christmas😊😊😊
