I saw a blog post by a mum who was wondering how she would cope with the cost of supplying school books for both of her 
kids this year.
One of her boys is a year lower than one of mine, so I wrote and asked for her school's book list. Two books matched so I was able to post the books for two subjects of my son's from the last school year.
I posted them addressed to her son, and she's just written to say how much he appreciated the personal post and she appreciated the gift.
