Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Thanks to the workers of our small city

--by shellysteinbyrd, posted Jul 19, 2015
It was a rainy day, and I was home with my husband, who has severe Alzheimer's. I decided to bake him a cake. Right after baking it, a tornado came through the neighborhood.

No one was hurt, but a lot of trees were down. The city workers were working in the warm weather. Their boss pulled out thermos' of water, so I decided to take it a step further...I cut up the cake. Put the pieces on paper plates, then on a tray and took it out to them, with a roll of paper towels and forks.

They appreciated the treat, and I was able to tell them how much I appreciated their hard work.
