2: Find Quiet Joy In Gratitude

It's not happiness that brings us gratitude. It's gratitude that brings us happiness. --Anonymous

Find Quiet Joy In Gratitude: For many, the coronavirus pandemic has brought forth fear, stress and in many cases untold sorrow. The mind can become fixated, creating a sense of aversion to the situation at hand, or incessantly grasping for things to get back to normal. With gratitude and acceptance we all have an opportunity to expand our awareness and to see the broader reality of our lives. Expanding our perception can shift our mind from fear or anxiousness to joy in short order. Find a quiet space today, and bring to your attention something for which you are grateful. It might be the fact that you have a roof over your head, or gratitude for grocery clerks or farmers that helped you get your food this week, the medical workers who put their lives at risk to protect ours, or the fact that seeing loved ones' faces and talking with them is just one click away. It might be the smile of your child, or the fact that you are able to breathe in a full breath. If you are health challenged, perhaps you have someone caring for you with kindness and love that you're grateful for. Allow this quality of gratitude to fill your being as you take some time alone in silence today. If you feel inspired, make a list of things you are grateful for, or start a gratitude journal today, or write a gratitude letter to someone that inspired you, or start a gratitude circle with family or housemates, where everybody shares something they are grateful for!
