9: Appreciate The Beauty Of Nature

And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. --William Shakespeare

Appreciate The Beauty Of Nature: Like the giving tree, nature not only offers us ingredients of food and materials for eveything that we create and use in this human life, but it is also a healing place. We often find peace sitting under a tree, listening to birds chirping, or seeing wildflowers dancing in the wind. Today, take a break from worries and digital devices (okay maybe after watching this bird song opera for some joyful inspiration ;)). You may choose to take a hike, sit in your garden or on your balcony, or face an open window at home, where you can receive the gentle brush of the wind, feel the warmth of the sun or the moisture and chill of rain or snow. Tune into the sounds around you, such as bird songs. Take a mental note of how many different birds participate in the community singing group; you may find joy mimicking their songs. If you are confined in your home, this film Home may intrigue you. Or use your imagination and memories to go back to your favorite spot in nature when you were a child. If you can go out, let the beauty of nature surprise you! Maybe it's the bark on the trees, the ripple in a lake, the sound of a stream, a gliding bird in the sky, or a crawling beatle on the ground. Like a curious child, see, listen and notice with all of your senses the gifts of nature as though for the first time!
