Stories of Kindness from Around the World

When Buildings, Gardens, Parks, ...

--by TC, posted Aug 5, 2015

When buildings, gardens, parks, soccer fields or golf courses are no longer being used by us nature quickly takes over and claims the area for itself again. Seeds are blown from other areas planting themselves in any little bit of soil that is available such as in the cracks of the road or concrete, on the rooftops and any other space it can find. In very little time plants, trees, grasses, small animals and birds begin to thrive. The manicured grasses of the parks and playing fields become long and overgrown with natural grasses and plant life. Abandon buildings with broken windows and crumbling walls soon are hidden from sight by the new life growing there. If we have the opportunity to witness such a transition it is a beautiful thing to watch, a process to be amazed and humbled by.
