Day 21 Of The ...

Day 21 of the grateful heart challenge posed the question, if this were your last day on earth, how would you spend it?

This poem came to me as I brought the question into my morning meditate 🕊 ❤️ . (posted on challenge feed as well — thank you for reading!)

If this was my last day
on earth,
I’d wander out into the meadow,
and stand barefoot,
feeling the damp green rise
up through my feet
filling my veins
with rivers of gratitude.

I’d lightly turn,
facing each direction,
giving homage
with a namaste and a bow,
saying the words, “thank you,”
to give them
a life
that will echo
long after I am
gone.

I would disrobe,
lie on the grass
and allow my skin
to meld into the earth,
delighting in even the ant’s tickle.
I would smile.

To the sky I would gaze
feeling the lift
before my spirit flies.

A dove would coo
me to sleep,
as I awake.
