Day 7: Yesterday my husband and I had dinner with friends. One of the men is slated to have cancer surgery in a very sensitive are of his body. He doesn't talk about it but as his wife did I could see his discomfort with her sharing such personal information. I could also see that she is worried, tense and grieving for what they are going through. Today I spent time with my Dad and his partner. Her son is dying of cancer and is in a very bad way. I could see her grieve and your concern. Watching a son die and not be able to help is excruciatingly painful for her. I sat and listened without talking as a witness to their suffering.
