This is the prayer, abbreviated, from our church lighting of the Advent Candle of Peace
We live in stressful times. The state of our minds often mirrors the state of our world. We worry a lot, about many things that are often out of our immediate control. May we honor the blessings yet to come by seeing the Christ child in the faces around us.
In the words of Francis of Assisi, May we be instruments of peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, joy. Let us be loving lights in our world.
