Stories of Kindness from Around the World

The Resolution Diamond

Maslow's pyramid, Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, the ACE scale, the trauma model + one brilliant woman = something brand new and wonderful.

Today my friend E posted a video about her Resolution Diamond which combines all the above. She tied it together brilliantly with compassion and kindness. As soon as she published I commented. Then I realized I was on my under1000skies YT channel and switched to the main one and subscribed again.

If you have ever experienced trauma at any time in your life, you might find E's video incredibly healing and useful too. Her blog is called Born in Providence. She has dual masters in clinical health and psychology. She's been working for years with women and children who come from trauma. She trained with Norma Canner (A Time to Dance). She has helped many people with this model. Every time I read her I come away with more understanding about myself and more light on my path.

"Silence is a prison.  Talking (and writing) about it is how we get free...Make sure you're in a safe enough place to do it and that you're not cheating your destiny.  Your story is a gift.  It's really precious."
Elizabeth Bouvier-Fitzgerald

She recommends checking out Dr. Roxane Gay, Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom "Writing Trauma," a YouTube video on the trauma narrative and how to tell it safely. (I think it's this one:  https://vimeo.com/206250642)
