Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Fruits Of Our Labor

--by kvpsummer, posted Jun 5, 2020

I try not to take anything for granted, but I do have many gifts in my life that are precious and reliable. Shelter, a local farm CSA that delivers fresh vegetables and fruits every Friday, clothes, shoes, and a job that allows me to care and provide for my family and organizations that I support.

An inconvenience I am grateful for is activism. It requires a lot of my time, mind space, learning muscles and letting go of stories I have been told or told myself at different points in my life. I am grateful for this intrusion on settling into every day life or status quo. I dream that one day we will all have everything we need to care for each other on every level and activism won't be necessary because we will know each other as one. For now, though activism is hard, I am incredibly grateful for it.
