The biggest thing this challenged helped me to do is to slow down and mindfully walk. Not keep my head down...not rush to get to point B from A...but to walk and notice. Notice nature, notice the people I pass, say hi or smile. I didn't realize just how much I needed to slow down, until this challenge. I've started learning to apply these lessons to other things, like work and driving. I didn't realize, until I slowed down in my walking during this challenge just what a bad effect the constant rushing was doing to me: it made me more tired, more irritable, more dour. Tho I'm still learning, I have noticed the difference in me when I do things mindfully, even if only for a fraction of the time, and it makes me just want to practice doing it more.
