Seeking Solace
We seek solace in nature, among the trees and the flowers. We walk in solitude finding balance, peace, and a sense of calming of out trouble minds and souls. Although we think we walk alone, we are in the company of others. The birds accompany us with the songs. The squirrels chatter and scold all those who come too near their nest. The whisper of the breeze in the branches of the trees is a music of its own. The crunch of the leaves beneath our feet reminds us we are connected to the earth and the soil. The sun above shines to light our way, even when we feel we walk in darkness. The fragrances of nature, the sweetness of flowers in bloom hangs in the air for our enjoyment. Our feet release the smells of pine needles and decaying leaves, pungent and yet a reminder of our connection to the earth. Rain falls and washes us clean in ways we do not always understand. The earth offers itself up to soothe, heal and comfort us and in return we honour it with our care and love of all that surrounds us. Picture taken and written by TC.
