The Gift Of A Vacation
I was a single mother of two, trying hard to make ends meet. I had not taken a day off work for several years.
A customer of mine asked, "Don't you ever take a vacation?"
I replied that I could not afford to take any time off.
She asked me, "Would you take some time off if I gave you $200?"
My immediate reply was, "I sure would!" So, she did.
I took a little mini-vacation with my kids and was so grateful for the fact that this customer noticed that I was always on the job and had the thought I might need a break - and then made it possible!
It was a holiday and an act of kindness I will never forget!
