Helping Our Mum Spread Some Sunshine
My mother, who lives on a limited income, loved the idea someone posted on Helping Others of having umbrellas available in the car to give out to folks in need. Not long after reading the story she was driving in the rain and saw someone drenched while waiting for the bus. It reminded her of what she had read and she felt terrible not to have an umbrella to offer.
Mom decided to shop for umbrellas and be ready next time. Alas, she could not find them at a price she could afford. She looked in used shops and had her friends do the same. When she found one it was either tattered or almost as expensive as new.
My husband and I looked in our area and found them very affordable at our local IKEA. We shipped her six new umbrellas, six towels, a stack of Smile cards and bags to put it all in and ready to hand out. We’re excited to hear her future stories of adventures spreading kindness!

A Surprise For My Coworkers
As a surprise for my coworkers, I bought 2 dozen red heart helium balloons and tied 10 of them to my team’s desks at work.
The rest of the balloons were tied onto random desks with a smile card attached to the balloon ribbon. When they come in to work on Monday, they will be surprised!
All those balloons are a cheery sight!
