Second Hand Kindness Delights
Hello fellow kindness givers, Day 3 and more of a pleasure than a challenge as we creatively think up ways of kindness or seize upon subtle opportunities as they come our way.
I am a second hand clothing lover and I stopped this morning at a little fundraiser in my local shopping area with massive piles of clothing going for $5 a bag. Found some delightful things, and found some items I think a friend might like.
She is always giving me her castoffs so it will be nice to give her something in return when I catch up with her this afternoon.

Inspiring Story
Good Evening Kindness Kittens! How are my KS Lightworkers today? Here is a lovely story I read in the New Zealand Herald today: An Auckland teen has warmed the hearts of commuters on the city's trains. Tainui Singh-Clark, 16, has taken it upon himself to give kind messages to fellow travellers. Preparing between 20 to 30 messages a day, Singh-Clark came up with the concept when he saw a woman alone on the train one evening. "I caught the train home by myself. There was a grumpy lady on the train who looked all sad and looked down a bit. I gave her a smile and she didn't smile back at me," he told Newshub. "It made me realise everyone else on the train is kind of like that. No one else really smiles on the train and so I decided from then on I'd write notes morning and afternoon." Photos of the notes have surfaced ... Read Full Story >>

Kindness In A Stormy Day
So lovely to read everyone's comments! We are having fierce spring storms across New Zealand at the moment and I had to drive two hours through torrential rain to teach a course today.
But I remembered the Kindness Challenge which transported me out of the rain blues. Bought cookies for my class and gave them an early finish. Nothing like giving people sugar hits and extra time in their day!

Smiles As The Beginning Of Love
Hello everyone,
It is the evening of Day 2 as I am in Auckland, New Zealand. Lovely to keep reading all the posts. Wow, the collective energy of everyone's kindness will make a big difference to the world we live in.
Mother Teresa said, "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of Love".
I practiced smiling at everyone I encountered, and made an effort to smile and send love to all my students especially to the sad or grumpy looking!! It transformed the space into one of upliftment and positivity and we all had a great day of learning and vibrant health.
I also gave my coffee lady a tip (we don't really tip in NZ so that made her smile!).

She Choose To Engage With The Chatty Woman At The Gym
I did a class at the gym this morning and as I was getting dressed, a woman who I've seen before at the gym arrived near my locker. She is chatty and has a slightly needy, gossipy energy so I've always been reluctant to engage in conversation. As usual she greeted me and I gave a non interested response.
Then she mumbled to herself that she had left her shampoo at home and something within me snapped to attention to be kind and not distant. So I offered her some of mine and away she went as I wished her a nice shower. Its nice to remember that every minute of every day is a chance for us to grow and love and be the small change.

Good Morning Gratitude Givers, ...
Good Morning Gratitude Givers, I thought I'd share one of my fav poems on gratitude:
"Thank You God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes." by ee cummings
To the beautiful trees, that absorb our carbon dioxide we salute you! This is our sacred, New Zealand Kauri tree in pic. Have a fabulous day, everyone!
