When Kindness Happens Just Where It's Supposed To

I wanted to use one of my Smile Cards today, so I went to the bank and withdrew $20. I went out on my lunch break, and walked around looking out for someone to give the money and the Smile Card to. I spotted a couple of people who I thought about giving it to but then I remembered that the Smile Card says to do it anonymously. So I decided to find a way to give away the $20 without the person knowing where it came from. I got in my car and drove to the mall and walked around praying for God to show me what to do. As I walked passed a dollar store I saw five pay phones by it. I took the $20 and neatly wrapped it around the Smile Card. I left if by the first pay phone and prayed that someone who really needed ... Read Full Story >>

Seeing The Smile On Their Face

I am so glad I found this site and I can't wait to use my smile cards.  I went to the mall on my lunch hour from work, and  wrapped a smile card with a five dollar bill and left it on a pole in the middle of the mall.  I had some time so I wanted to sit back and watch who would take it. I couldn't believe how many people walked by and didn't see it!  I prayed that just the right person would find it, that really needed some encouragement today.  My lunch was almost over so I was almost out of time.  I really wanted to see the person's face who found it.  Then all of a sudden two ladies walked by and one of them took the money rather quickly, and then I saw her and her friend read the smile card and then turn it over ... Touching A Young Lady's Life

I work with a guy who is a single dad and has an adorable daughter who looks just like him.  He brings her to work sometimes at night while he is working.  Last night, he picked her up and brought her to work, and she was standing at my desk chatting with me.  I believe she is 10 or 11 years old and has a mom who lives far away and who she only sees about three times a year.  While we were chatting, I was looking at her thinking how wonderful her father is to her, but how it must be hard not to be around her mom more often.  I am so thankful my girls got to grow up with their father and mother together.  Anway, I looked into her heart, and God touched my heart to do something for her.  The next day, I went to the mall and ... Sandwiches With Extra Love

My sister is having a rough time as she watches her husband go through his chemotherapy. She spends her days at the hospital and isn't really eating properly. Sometimes, like at the weekends, the cafeteria isn't open much.

So my husband and I went to the hospital tonight and gave her some large, delicious sandwiches we bought from a local store.  She was so thankful and encouraged that we had done that. She told us she had just finished going through her fridge and throwing out all the food that had gone bad since she hasn't been home much. It's amazing how just a couple sandwiches can make someone's day!

It wasn't much, but then it doesn't have to be a big expensive thing to show someone you love them.

Using My First Smile Card

I finally got my smile cards in the mail and I couldn't wait to use them.  Here's what I did with my first one.

We have inter-office mail at work, so I put a smile card in an envelope with five swiss chocolates, and sent it annonomously to a fellow worker.  I pray it brightened his day and made him smile and my prayer is that he will pay-it-forward and make someone else's day.
