Missing The Small Things Over ...

Missing the Small Things
Over the course of the pandemic much has been said about what we miss, and there are many. We miss time with family, friends and giving them hugs. Just to name a few. Although restrictions have lifted or not been as strict, there is sometimes a nervousness when gathering with others. And this has been hard on all of us.
As time passes there are small inconsequential things that are missed that we may not even realize. But, they are not small or inconsequential for they are important to our well-being.
Since spending so much time at home, it has become the norm to wear sweatpants and t-shirts even when we go out. Over Christmas, I was reminded how much I enjoy making an effort to dress up to go out, putting on a nice top, and jewelry. Wearing something other than my yoga pants and sweatshirts. On our daily walks it has become normal to step aside or cross the street to avoid coming into close contact with others, to maintain a social distance from everyone we meet. I look forward to the day when we can again pass each other on a sidewalk without moving 6 feet apart. And I also look forward to petting the dogs I meet on my walks, as I chat with their owners.
We are all looking forward to the time we can return to a more normal way of life. But until then, we carry on as best we can. We will watch out for our neighbours and our loved ones, helping when we can. We will all have our times when we struggle and need the support of those who love us. And we will also have times when all is right in our world. Stay strong and reach out when you need to feel the love and support of those who care. Picture taken and written by TC.
