🎈 Gifts

Gifts from the sky and a bottle of bubbly!!!

Two hot air balloons landed in our meadow early this morning. An unscheduled stop, but wow, talk about timing :)).

Had just finished my morning meditate when we heard the dragon’s breath sound of a hot air balloon. We looked out our front door and there they were! Due to the air currents, the balloons needed to land on our land.

As the passengers disembarked and headed towards our drive, we greeted them like the gifts from the sky that they were :))).

We offered the travelers oatmeal raisin cookies (we had some in the freezer, saved to give later — so glad we had!) and the use of our bathroom facilities. (The Pilot said they never had anyone offer their passengers a bathroom before — which I find surprising. I mean that’s the first thing I’d want to do after landing. 😊)

We gave every family or couple, plus the pilots, an info card with our addy and number on it, so to send them the group photo I took, if they wanted, and/or the oatmeal raisin cookie recipe (a few expressed an interest! It really is a tasty cookie, even frozen!)

The young boy was throwing pinecones and I asked if he’d like to pick a rock from our land to take home. He happily chose one from our landscape, and gave such a sweet thanks. “My mom said not to pick any flowers, so that’s why I was throwing pinecones. Not to hurt anything.”

I assured him it was ok to pick any wildflowers on our land that he wanted, just not to pull them up by the roots 🌸.

Who knew that smack dab in the middle of just about nowhere, friends would drop from the sky? :)))))

Oh, and the balloonists surprised us with a bottle of champagne, from their champagne toast supply, for being such gracious hosts and an offer for a ride sometime...

Saving the bubbly for my birthday celebrate in a few days!

Both of you did a wonderful job.

I do not see any valid reason not to allow strangers our bathroom. Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience.
