Train Controller and the Reggia Ride

--by Marmosso7, posted Jan 7, 2019
I was in a foreign country. Even though I knew the country and the language and everything well, I might still need some other people to help me in emergency cases. I took a midnight train from the capital to where I lived. I was trying not to fall asleep as I would be home towards 2am, but funnily enough I fell asleep and opened my eyes while the train reported from the station I wanted to arrive. I went and talked to the controllers, one of them told me to get off at the next one and wait for the train to my city, which would not arrive until 4 in the morning. The other station was just shitty and too dangerous to wait alone for the next train.

One of the controllers got off with me as he lived there. Then he told me he would not feel okay if he left me there alone. He offered to get into his car because it was freezing outside. I was a bit suspicious, but I trusted him. I got in the car and we started talking. He looked like a really good person, very gentle, pure and warm.

Then he asked: Have you ever been here?
Me: Well I have always passed from the station, but never stepped into the city.
He: You heard about our reggia? It is very big and famous! Would you like to see it while having a short ride in the car?
Me: Oh, well okay.

I was completely shocked, but I did not feel anything negative. Actually I found it very nice. He had no further expectations, he seriously wanted me to see the Reggia. We had a short ride around the Old Dynasty House and it was great. Then around 4 he left me to the station. To this day I've always remembered that guy with deep gratitude and respect. Actually, I later went to the station to thank him, but he was not there. So I left a poem and some sweets for him. Hope he is doing fine and enjoying life. :)
