What A Way To ...

What a way to start my morning.

Walked to the beach to Touch The Ocean, while listening to my audiobook and talking to my mom.

Then, headed to Sprouts for items for breakfast. On the way out I saw a woman who appeared to be in need. I offered her one of my "homeless bags." She was grateful. I asked how she was doing with socks. She needed some, so I told her I'd get some for her.

Ended up buying her socks, gloves and a knit cap. When I came out of the store, there was another woman in need with the first woman. The first woman gave this new woman some of the food I had given her.

So, I gave her a bag of her home which she didn't want to accept at first, but turned out she had no food. It had been stolen the night before by other homeless folks by the tracks.

She told me and asked so much:
• She was a teacher and a musician and got her Ph.D. in Finland.
• She was a musician and was starting a band and was getting married to her man on February 14th and that I should come to the wedding.
• She was out of food because she spent all of her money on the prison commissary where her fiance was residing.
• She put on make-up today.
• "Who won the football game?"
• "Are you a Christian?"
• "Are you Agnostic?"
• "What's your name? Oh, do you like The Kings of Leon?"

Both women thanked me, called me "Sweetie", and hugged me. As I was about to drive off, one made the sign of the cross and touched the hood of my van, I'm assuming to bless me.
