Compassionate Listening…..

--by Mish, posted Oct 17, 2022
👂🏻 “Deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person. You can call it compassionate listening. You listen with only one purpose: to help him or her to empty their heart.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Reconnected with a friend from long ago….she’s been going through a challenging transition, is depressed & fearful, although functioning, lives in a lovely house, has a sweet rescue dog, is aware of & grateful for her blessings.

She needed to be heard…I listened…shared…She had been there for me long ago when I was navigating a difficult transition & helped me get through it.

We’ve come full circle…she thanked me…some of what I shared has helped her access some aids that seem to be what she might need to deal with things better…more ‘tools’ that will strengthen her on her journey.

We can all help one another to see things differently by sharing what we learned from our own, similar, experiences. 🙏
