Stories of Kindness from Around the World

About Four Weeks Ago, ...

About four weeks ago, our dear little Persian cat Ashleigh Faith crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 16 years. We adopted her when she was five weeks old and bottle fed her until she able to eat on her own. She was tiny, weighing only six pounds at her highest weight. She was our baby, traveling all over the USA with us in our motorhome, then settling in at our home in Custer, SD. She left a HUGE hole in our hearts, and she had been my constant companion during the tough months of chemotherapy.
Recently, our neighbor called & asked if we knew anyone who did cat-sitting, as she was going to visit family out of state for two weeks. My husband instantly said “we’d love to take care of Bella.” We visit Bella each morning and afternoon, and she has been so healing for us after our loss. Bella is 10 months old, and VERY active. We took Ashleigh’s laser light toy & Bella loves chasing the red dot all over the house. She now watches for us at the window, then races to the door to greet us. Spending time with Bella is just what we needed, and it helped our neighbor knowing that we take good care of her.
Picture of Bella relaxing with my husband on the sofa.💕

Although an outside cat, it would follow me around whenever i was outside, and i played with her often on the porch or in the garage - our young cat did like to wander but always came (from no matter where or how far away whenever i called) until one morning - it had been hit by a car on the way home to answer my call. My young granddaughter searched for a replacement that even looked like mine and she thought would have the same personality - it did not, but the love in a child's heart healed the grief like the cat sitting did for you. Yes, i still have the that cat and it is a part of our family until time takes it over the rainbow bridge.
