Fostering Kind Connections Through Shared Baby Loss

--by Helenconnell2, posted Oct 26, 2025
I have been helping one of the library staff to plan a display about miscarriage and early baby loss for Baby Loss Awareness Week. She pulled me aside yesterday because she was disappointed by the area manager saying as it was a sensitive subject, it was thought it would be inappropriate for the library. We agreed that when you've experienced something like this, then you want to know you're not alone. We have agreed to put a small display under 'Health Issues' - I will do my best to be there during the week to help other people. The positive to come from this is our library is going to be sent some books about miscarriage for people to borrow.

I'm deteremined to support Catherine and will do my best to help others.

A library is a place where people find information on hard topics and often later in their lives express their gratitude revealing how much they appreciated it when they felt alone and confused. It is the extension of a hug and a compassionate person by their side.
