Kindness At The Door

Hi dear valued friends,
It is wonderful to connect with you all after a long time, during which I was busy with my youngest daughter’s wedding. Guests had come to stay, and I was very busy before and after the ceremony.

Now that life has returned to normal, I am sharing with you a simple incident that touched me greatly. I had ordered groceries to be delivered at home and was waiting to get started on my daily routine.

At last, the doorbell rang, and I opened the door to see a young man holding a heavy bag of groceries. I asked him to put it down, saying thank you. Before leaving, he politely asked me to hold the packet from underneath as well so nothing would fall from the brown paper bag to the floor.

I assured him I would and closed the door. While putting the groceries away, I saw that there were milk packets at the bottom. Had I not been warned by the kind and thoughtful delivery guy, the brown paper bag would surely have been torn by the weight of the items in it, breaking and spilling the milk packets to the floor as well.

In these times, when everyone is in a hurry to finish what they are doing and start scrolling on their mobiles, here was a man who took the time to think about others and talk to them politely.

This simple deed of kindness touched my heart and prompted me to share my story with all of you.
