Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Sandwiches With Extra Love

--by Happy7, posted Jun 25, 2011

My sister is having a rough time as she watches her husband go through his chemotherapy. She spends her days at the hospital and isn't really eating properly. Sometimes, like at the weekends, the cafeteria isn't open much.

So my husband and I went to the hospital tonight and gave her some large, delicious sandwiches we bought from a local store.  She was so thankful and encouraged that we had done that. She told us she had just finished going through her fridge and throwing out all the food that had gone bad since she hasn't been home much. It's amazing how just a couple sandwiches can make someone's day!

It wasn't much, but then it doesn't have to be a big expensive thing to show someone you love them.

But, we can try and help the issue by bringing meals to these families or cleaning their homes. Sometimes taking the burden of daily tasks for these people makes all the difference!

Just a random thought :)

God bless! I pray that your brother-in-law gets better and that your sister gets some peace. -G.

Your sister is definitely a devoted wife and it'll help him to heal quickly...there is nothing like having your loved one at your bedside. You are so dear to make sure she stays nourished and also knows you care.
