Stories of Kindness from Around the World

An Act of Kindness Every Day

--by hasifa, posted Sep 1, 2011

This whole week I have been doing acts of kindness every day.  The following are a few that I wanted to share.

Thursday

I went to the post office and solicited for prayers for the prayer book I have started for a very ill boss of mine who is battling cancer.

Friday

I called my boss while he was receiving his chemotherapy and I told him that everything would be ok and he just needed to hang in there. I also offered to drop off the prayer book for him to read if he needed encouragement.

Saturday

I just moved into my current neighborhood and still getting to know my way around. When I first went to the car wash near my apartment, I met a lot of friendly people. When I went back for the second time, they washed my car for free.

This past Saturday my mother needed to borrow my car. I did not want to give it to her dirty so I took it to the car wash and told them I just needed a quick clean up. They did it again for free!

Grateful for their kindness, I knew I had to do something nice in return. I wanted to make them lunch since it was my day off. Later on, I made three of my very special homemade pizzas where I even kneaded the dough and made the sauce myself. I added in some fruit and even made my special virgin sangria tea and dropped it off for the guys at the car wash. They were surprised and grateful. I got a call from the manager that afternoon raving about how great the food was and how wonderful my gesture had been.

Sometimes it gets to be such a habit,(which is a wonderful thing) that we can't even remember them all. But your home made pizzas----that's really outstanding! Yum. I wish i lived in your neighborhood!
