Those two lessons are tough to grasp, but i'm glad you remember how they became embedded into your nature. It's wonderful how delightful the outcome of such little acts of kindness can be =) it's almost just the outcome that is reason enough to apply such great ideas (those 2 that your parents told you)into one's life! Thank you for sharing =)

I was just adamant, aggressive about it earlier, but nowadays became complacent. Your story makes me realize the importance of those moments and i cherish the memories and feel inspired to practise honesty and truth again, alwaz inspite of all losses.
Thank you so much for posting this.
I thought of writing comment later, but remembered how you rushed to do what was right and required, so logged again.
Kudos and smiles.

How many things have happened in our lives over the years that we can remember so vividly and be able to tell of so eloquently? But because this created such a peace, such a joy for you, it was embedded in a special place in your heart for you to draw upon with fondness. Thank you for sharing not only your experience but the deep down moral of "do the right thing". Just as a side note: this has happened to me more than once, and i get such a kick out of the cashier's face when i go back to give them money! Most often it is a confused quizzical look on their face that someone would actually do this. I've had the pleasure of doing it for something as small as a pack of gum that got missed among a large order of groceries- and i felt a warm blessing from my higher power and an internal joy-again, just from knowing i did the right thing.
Light & love to all,
