Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Chocolate Crepe Kindness

--by cabbage, posted Jun 26, 2012
This rainy Sunday morning my son and I visited our local farmers' market. As a special treat, we decided to get some crepes for our breakfast from one of the stands. While he was in line getting those I went down to my favorite stall - the apple farmer! I just love the smell and sight of those stalls at this time of year!

I was chatting with the woman there about the best kind to get for making pies and I was just about to pay for mine when my son wandered up with two plates of delicious crepes. One of the girls behind the counter said, "Oohh, those look yummy!"

After paying for the apples and finishing our rounds we decided that we had to get her a crepe too and my son started describing all of the varieties they had, in particular one that he saw someone else get that looked particularly delicious (with fresh chocolate!) He was so excited watching those crepes being made!

We asked for a "to go" box, got a fork/knife and napkin and went back to the apple stand. We found the girl and said, "This one is for you!"  She was incredulous and said, "No way! Are you serious? You didn't have to do that!" The look of joy and surprise was priceless! She gave me a hug and we smiled all the way home. It just made our day!
