Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Coffee And Kindness

--by Daziejane, posted Dec 21, 2013
Last year I went to the local coffee shop drive thru to treat my coworkers to an afternoon latte.

After ordering five coffee drinks, I pulled up to the window to wait patiently for the drinks as it was a warm afternoon and the place was very busy.

I looked into my rearview mirror to see a man tapping on his steering wheel and looking extremely cranky. The lady working the window opened it up to give me the total for my drinks.

I smiled at her and said that I would like to pay for the drink of the man in the car behind me as he looked like he was having a bad day. She paused and asked me to wait for just a moment. Upon returning to the window she smiled and said, "It is taken care of." I replied thank you as she handed my order over through the window.

I paused for a moment for the total of the order I had just received but she only waved her hand and said, "Your drinks are on the house. Have a lovely day!"

I remember this on days when I am having a rough day. This sweet lady had taken the kindness I extended and expanded upon it. Small acts of kindness sometimes have the best rewards
