Stories of Kindness from Around the World

In The Neighborhood

--by cabbage, posted Jan 21, 2014
Found out that an elderly woman in our neighborhood recently lost her spouse after a long illness. Even though we didn't know them well (and they didn't join much in neighborhood activities), took over some flowers and a card for the family. Her son (whom I had never met) was really touched and spoke to me for a long time. I was glad to be there.

The elderly lady herself is now in the last phase of her life---hospice care at home
And she has stopped eating--- i went to visit her/her son today with flowers and food.
And my husband went to visit earlier today as well. Even though we don't know them well, i feel it is the right thing to do.
