Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Still Good People Out There

--by Aurelia, posted Jun 23, 2007
My husband had lost his job of 15 years. It was very difficult on him and his self esteem was at a low. Being in his 40s, made it hard for him to find work because his training was in a dying field, hand drafting, and also telecommunication installation. He was without work for over 18 months. Not even a grccery store would hire him as they felt he was Over qualified and that He would leave when he found something better.

Then an angel arrived at our house -- my daughter's friend's mom. She knew we were feeling the money crunch and talked to her husband (who owned a company) about offering my husband a job. And he did! My husband had to be trained in a totally different field of work, but he learned quickly and became very good at it.

We are grateful for that angel's visit and that she took the time to listen to my husband and learn that  he is a smart, good man who was just low on self esteem from being out of work.  Some of us just need to be given the chance to prove ourselves.

Thank you.  And for any of you out there struggling like my husband did -- keep the faith.  Something will come along and you CAN start over.  There are still good people out there.

As you told me in an earlier story, good follows good and faith creates possibilities and fulfil needs but in God's time table not ours.
There are Good (take out one "o and it
spells "GOD") People all around, even You and thank God for their kindnesses!
