Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Flower Power

--by tigerlily, posted Dec 5, 2007

This morning one of my co-workers was quite agitated over the use of  our company cars. .... the result of  misunderstanding.  This work environment is very high-stress for all of us, however, I was shocked when she was actually raising her voice.

She left the office in a huff  (our job requires outside visits.)  Some of the other employees mentioned that she hadn't been "quite herself" lately .  I got to thinking that maybe there was more going on than a dispute over who should be driving the company car today, so while I was out, I picked up a bouquet of flowers and a nice vase and just left them on her desk.

I didn't see her until later in the day and when I did her overall attitude was quite sunnier!  She asked me if I had the left the flowers for her and I neither affirmed nor denied.  They seemed to have made her day!

That was the greatest act of 'charity' and I'm sure she will never scream at any one again.

This worked wonders on her, I know what it is to run /fly around in the market , one thinks -being a woman its very easy to get along on our field trips, trust me with this one, old as I am ,it's a very tricky situation for any woman in the marketing line.

If you don't keep to the given time, you may have to listen to things, you never wanted to hear before, you amy have to make up for that loss of time, being late for the given appointment, by going out for a lunch or dinner my dear.

So, you see, that could have been the reason for her being so horrible and bouncy that day.I'm sure, she will never forget your vase and the flowers you left for her on that desk , without being a pest to her my dear.

That was the best gift she has got in all these years of doing this field work for sure.

I worked on open projects, and went in a pickup as well, to the project sites right out into the deserts at night as well.

God alone followed me and protected me all the time.

God Bless,

Barbara

Sometimes we don't act like who we are so that time when our friend do thing that changes a lot of things too. I like it. Keep It Up...!!!
