Update On Aurelia's Mom

--by Aurelia, posted Jan 8, 2008

UPDATE: Just found out my mom has 2 brain tumors. She will go for radiation treatment to try to reduce the size. They are hoping to give her some pain relief. We are not looking for a miracle, we only want her quality of life to be improved from whatever time she  has left her on earth. Please continue to pray for all of us as we make some really difficult decisions over the next month. The doctors say that "just because we start something/radiation, doesn't mean we will  have to continue if we don't like what we see in mom." Please be with me. I thank God for all my friends across the world. AMEN. ~Aurelia

Unfortunately, my mom had to be placed in a nursing home yesterday. I was full of grief over this decision. My dad is 86 and just could not care for her because of her alzheimers and deteriorating health. I live too far away to visit often.

Please pray for me and my family as we come to terms with this heartbreaking decision. I can only pray they don't over drug her and she still knows we love her.

Pray for my dad, who will now have an empty bed and miss the company of his loved one of over 60 years marriage. I hope my brothers and sisters that live by him will make sure he sees her often at the nursing home. ~Aurelia

My mom has had a difficult time dealing with the changes in her life but just surround yourself with friends and people who love you and that will make this a bit easier. I will keep you in my thoughts

Dear Aurelia,
You and your dad are in my prayers and thoughts. I am sure that your mom still knows how much all of you love her, and your kind and giving spirit are a tribute to the kind of person she must have been too. I wish you strength and courage to get through this difficult time. I know that your mom will be with you always....
in all of your loving actions and in your precious memories. Please know that I am thinking of you and wishing you peace.

Remember the good times with your mom and talk to her soul everyday, even before her passing. Love breaks all bounderies. Even the ones between Heaven and Earth.
