Helping Out A Mother In Need

--by aurelia, posted Apr 5, 2008

Today while I was at work, a friend of mine came in my office, closed the door and starting weeping uncontrollably.

It seems her ex-husband had hurt her daughter. The daughter mentioned it to a teacher and it got reported to child services! My friend is down on her luck, and lives pay check to pay check and no credit cards. We have had  a tough winter and heating bills are piling up and the cupboards are almost bare! It seems the child protective services will be making visits to both houses/ hers and ex-husbands. She was crying because there was leak in her  ceiling and not much food in the house....and she was afraid they would think she was unfit.  I tried to talk to her and calm her down and tell her that her house is clean and neat, she didn't hurt her daughter, so please don't worry.   She finally relaxed and hugged me.

When I came home for lunch, I packed up all kinds of food, cereal, juice, canned fruit, soups, mac & cheese, tuna, peanut butter...anything I could find that I hadn't opened yet and I took it back to work. I put the 2 bags in my friends car. It wasn't much...she is  going to have to shop for milk and fresh fruit, but it's a start.

I didn't have the extra cash, so this was all I could do. Another lady at work, volunteered her husband to go repair the leak :0) ....  Please pray for her and her daughter to be OK.

Thanks... :0) ~Aurelia

More than likely they are just checking everything because they have to investigate the allegations. Oh, I hope this turn out ok. and you were so kind to reassure her and help her! Continue to help her and support her!
Alraisi wrote: A friend in need is a friend indeed. You really are special and You supported her in two ways! One is spiritually and the second one by giving her something to make her Happy! That was great and I'm sure she'll appreciate it. About the child, I'll pray for her and her mom too. There is something, if You think her home is neat and she loves her child that much. Then believe me that they will keep the child with her mom. Thanks for sharing this one. My prayers are with her!

Bless the friends who fixed the leaking ceiling as well. May the Lord continue to bless your friend and wrap His arms of love around her and her daughter during this tumultuous time. I can imagine that it means the world to her to have people in her life who truly care. God bless you.
